NPS, Windows 2008 R2 - "The client could not be authenticated because the Extensible Authentication Protocol EAP type can not be processed by the server"

Possible problem, while having these errors, is certificate on the server and permissions.


For Example.

Cert  could be wrong because you have requested it via the IE interface. Thus, wrong permissions were assigned in Windows 2008R2. Instead of this you need to use MMC to request certificate from CA.

Issued a computer cert through the MMC and added domain computer group to NPS policy.

I hope this can help you. At least it fixed problems for me on 2008R2 x64 system.
